So I had some time to actually sit down in front of the computer and tube down the lazy river of music videos, a fitting activity for when it is 90 degrees and you are reduced to the reptile functions of the brain. On my journey I discovered this great track, with accompanying video with these warm dancing analog graphic patterns, made made with a Spectre Color Video Synthesizer, which uses a pin/grid system to route image signals. Thanks to the random commenter who pointed this out! You will see when you click on the link various classes of visual outputs that look like pictograms and are fun in and of themselves as stills. The image below shows 16 "basic built-in shapes" that serve as the foundation for experimenting with the machine.
